About OPHTEC USA
OPHTEC USA is a subsidiary of OPHTEC, the family company of our founder, Prof. Jan Worst.
Prof. Worst was an innovator in the field of ophthalmic devices and IOLs. Unsatisfied with the treatment options of his time, he pioneered the Iris Claw Lens (ICL) for fixation in the anterior chamber with its unique haptic design. His wife, Anneke Worst-van Dam, established OPHTEC in 1983 in Groningen, The Netherlands. The ICL now has a history of over 30 years of safe and reliable usage and a line of trusted lens products that use the technology.
OPHTEC USA was established to provide Prof. Worst's visionary products to the US market. Since 1997, the USA team has worked closely with regulatory bodies and trusted distributors to provide ophthalmic surgical devices that empower doctors to give patients their best visual outcomes.
Our mission is to share our passion for vision with ophthalmologists by providing in depth education and support in the use of our clinically innovative FDA-approved products for cataract and refractive surgery.
OPHTEC follows a Corporate Governance Code, also known as code of conduct. The code of conduct is a document that helps us to apprehend an open, transparent and ethical organizational culture.
